Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital St Joseph is seeking a part-time Radiology Support Clerk to assist in patient and staff communication, manage critical results, and support radiologists with interpretation needs. You will handle multi-line calls, route to the correct departments, and ensure timely stroke notifications.

You will import/export radiology images via CD/DVD or electronic methods, participate in PACS quality control, and help train new team members as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Associate’s Degree and completion of medical terminology and/or anatomy and physiology.
• 6 months of relevant Medical Office and Customer Service experience preferred.
• CRT-BLS from AHA or ARC within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients, physicians, and staff regionally, nationally, and internationally to achieve positive outcomes.
• Calls critical results, call reports, and strokes to the appropriate caregiver within a set time frame.
• Answers multi-line phones, takes messages, pages physicians and triages calls.
• Imports and exports Radiology images via CD, DVD, and electronically as requested.
• Identifies and resolves or escalates concerns to achieve positive outcomes.
• Maintains quality control of the PACS system under guidance of the PACS team.
• Assists with training of new team members.

Job Summary

Interacts with patients, physicians, and other staff, both within the hospital and with outside facilities, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Responsible for calling critical results, call reports, and strokes: Red, Orange, and Yellow critical and significant findings as well as call reports and any stroke patients are being called to the appropriate care giver within a set time frame. Ensures Radiology exams performed are read by Radiologists in an efficient and timely manner. Imports and exports radiology images via CD, DVD, and electronically as requested. Responsible for answering multi-line phone systems, taking messages, paging physicians and staff, triaging calls by routing them to the appropriate personnel or department. Works closely and assists the Radiologist with all their interpretation needs. Consistently creates an exceptional experience with each contact, via inbound and outbound calls, face to face interactions, online chat, and email. Staff in this role are required to know and operate multiple computer software programs.

• Responsible for the quality control of our PACS system with the guidance and direction of the PACS team.
• Ensures Radiology exams performed are read by Radiologists in an efficient and timely manner.
• Assists with training of new team members as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Associate’s Degree and successful completion of medical terminology class and/or anatomy and physiology
• 6 months of relevant experience Medical Office and Customer Service Preferred
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
