Job summary

The University of Wisconsin1 Madison MRI Radiology department is seeking an MRI Tech Assistant to support both clinical and research imaging operations, including daily MRI and PET/MRI examinations. You will manage data for imaging projects and educate, train, and supervise researchers on scanner operations and imaging techniques in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates will have basic medical terminology knowledge, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication to work with

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of customer service, administrative, healthcare, and/or relevant professional experience.
• BLS/CPR certification within 3 months of start date required.

Responsibilities

• Collects, prepares, and delivers specimens for laboratory analysis
• Prepares and cleans examination rooms, instruments, and equipment for specific procedures
• Escorts patients to various hospital locations and delivers, orders, and inventories general clinic supplies
• Performs administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, assisting patients with billing, and coding information and answering basic medical questions
• Performs routine vital signs, basic tests, assists with minor procedures, and administers medications as directed by supervising clinician
• Patient communication: Educate patients about scheduled procedures, and follow-up instructions. Screen patients for potential safety concerns. Provide excellent customer service and maintain compassionate professional patient care.
