Job summary

Kettering Health Network is seeking an Imaging Tech Assistant to support imaging technologists by preparing patients, maintaining equipment and rooms, and assisting with imaging procedures to ensure safe, efficient care. Responsibilities include MRI safety checks, patient transfers, and accurate documentation.

Required education includes a high school diploma and BLS within 90 days. At least one year in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology or imaging services.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort and transport patients to imaging areas with safety in mind.
• Assist patients with positioning and transferring onto examination tables as directed.
• Prepare imaging rooms and equipment for procedures and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist technologists during imaging procedures by handling equipment, supplies, and contrast materials under supervision.
• Conduct preliminary screenings, such as MRI safety checks, to confirm patient readiness.
• Verify physician orders and obtain patient histories as directed.
• Schedule and coordinate imaging appointments and manage routine clerical tasks.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with data entry in electronic health records.
• Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.
