Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort and transport patients to imaging areas with safety in mind.
• Assist patients with positioning and transferring onto examination tables as directed.
• Prepare imaging rooms and equipment for procedures and maintain cleanliness.
• Assist technologists during imaging procedures by handling equipment, supplies, and contrast materials under supervision.
• Conduct preliminary screenings, such as MRI safety checks, to confirm patient readiness.
• Verify physician orders and obtain patient histories as directed.
• Schedule and coordinate imaging appointments and manage routine clerical tasks.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with data entry in electronic health records.
• Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Imaging Tech Assistant supports imaging technologists by preparing patients, maintaining equipment and exam rooms, and assisting with imaging procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role contributes to patient safety, access, and operational reliability by adhering to regulatory standards and supporting workflow in the imaging department. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology or imaging services.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of related medical courses.
