Kettering Health is seeking an Imaging Tech Assistant for the MRI department in Centerville. The role supports technologists by preparing patients, maintaining rooms, and assisting with procedures to ensure safe, efficient care.

Required are a high school diploma, 1+ year healthcare experience (radiology preferred), and BLS within 90 days. PRN First Shift with attention to safety and HIPAA compliance. Familiarity with infection control and data entry is a plus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escorts and transports patients to imaging areas, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Assists patients with positioning and transferring onto examination tables as directed by technologists.
• Prepares imaging rooms and equipment for procedures, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
• Assists technologists during imaging procedures by handling equipment, supplies, and contrast materials under supervision.
• Conducts preliminary screenings, such as MRI safety checks, to confirm patient readiness for imaging.
• Verifies physician orders and obtains patient histories as directed.
• Schedules imaging appointments and manages routine clerical tasks.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation and assists with data entry in electronic health records.
• Monitors and reports equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to appropriate staff.
• Adheres to infection control, radiation safety, and organizational policies at all times.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of imaging areas, including stocking supplies.
• Responds appropriately to emergencies and assists with patient care within scope of training.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The Imaging Tech Assistant supports imaging technologists by preparing patients, maintaining equipment and exam rooms, and assisting with imaging procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role contributes to patient safety, access, and operational reliability by adhering to regulatory standards and supporting workflow in the imaging department. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology or imaging services.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of related medical courses.
