Job summary

UVA Imaging in Charlottesville, VA seeks a full-time MRI Imaging Assistant (MRTA) to join a patient-focused team. The MRTA assists with patient preparation, supports MRI safety, and helps maintain efficient patient flow while the technologist performs imaging remotely.

The position requires healthcare experience, HS diploma, and BLS certification within 60 days. Evening shifts and some weekend availability are required, with a comprehensive benefits package provided.

Qualifications

• One year of prior healthcare experience required.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced Healthcare certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and assist with completing pre-procedure forms.
• Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and provide attentive patient care.
• Assist with patient preparation and support workflow while the MRI technologist performs imaging remotely.
• Follow MRI safety standards to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation in RIS and PACS.
• Monitor supply needs and keep rooms stocked.
• Attend staff meetings and center-wide meetings.
