The MRI technologist at UVA Health will work with the radiologist and staff to prepare patients and operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic scans. You will position the patient, set factors, and produce quality images for radiologist interpretation in a busy clinical setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and graduate from an accredited MRI program; ARRT/ARMRIT registration or eligibility is required with registry completed within 12 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited MRI program.
• 2 years of healthcare experience preferred.
• ARRT or ARMRIT MRI registration or eligible; registry within 12 months.
• Proficient verbal and written communications.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and multitask.
• Proficient in MRI safety.

Responsabilités

• Explain procedure and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation.
• Position patient body parts for imaging and adjust technical factors.
• Operate MRI equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Collaborate with radiologist and staff to ensure efficiency.
• Maintain sterile fields and follow safety protocols.
