The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (MRI) for its Imaging Service within the VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System. The selectee will operate in MRI, perform examinations, manage patient care, and ensure safety standards are followed.

The full performance level is GS-9, with on-site duties and on-call expectations. Required credentials include U.S. citizenship, a 24-month diagnostic radiology program, and ARRT (R) certification; advanced ARRT

Competenze

U.S. citizenship required or as per VA policy
Completion of a full-time diagnostic radiologic technology program (24+ months)
ARRT general radiologic technology certification (R)
Advanced ARRT certification for CT/MRI/Mammography duties when applicable
On-the-job training available for those without advanced certification
Experience at GS-8 level or equivalent preferred

Mansioni

Schedule and optimize MRI exams across equipment capabilities
Determine imaging parameters in coordination with Radiologist and Physicist
Position patients and monitor through MRI procedure; start IV and administer MRI contrast when needed
Use PACS/RIS to manage and annotate patient exams; ensure correct patient identification and consent
Train new staff on procedures; ensure safety and compliance with ACR guidelines
Perform daily quality assurance and assist in equipment calibration/troubleshooting
Maintain and archive MRI images for permanent storage; monitor MRI safety standards
