Overview

This role will have oversight within the MRI department

Shift: typically, 6:30am - 3:00pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm, with occasional Saturday/Sunday shifts (float between 3 sites)

To support staff technologists and other departmental staff in the daily provision of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and CT services. Under the supervision of a certified technologist, this role assists and supports the provision of MRI and CT services to patients.

Responsibilities

1. Meet patients upon arrival, assist with paperwork and documentation, answer scheduling and patient history questions, and escort patients to dressing areas. Conduct MRI screening to ensure safety, assist with patient lifting and transferring, establish IV access for contrast administration, prepare oral contrast, and provide patient instructions under technologist supervision.
2. Properly position and align patients and equipment for imaging, perform telemetry monitoring if applicable, support patient care, and provide discharge instructions. Report equipment malfunctions and assist with QC testing. Transport patients as needed and prepare exam rooms following procedures.
