Job summary

Northeast Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking an MRI Tech Aide to support administrative and operational tasks within the MRI department. You will bridge patients, MRI technologists, and scheduling staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient workflows while maintaining compassionate relationships with patients, families, and clinical colleagues.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, scheduling preparation, PACS handling, image transfers, and ensuring accurate demographic and insurance

Qualifications

• MRI/X-ray or medical office experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changes and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Strong computer proficiency and telephone etiquette.
• Medically cleared and safe to work in an MRI environment (Zone IV/III).

Responsibilities

• Greets patients entering the MRI suite in a warm, welcoming manner.
• Checks in patients and confirms demographic and insurance information.
• Answers department phone calls and responds to non-clinical messages promptly.
• Monitors and completes MRI order packet requests in athenaOne.
• Prepares next-day schedules with complete MRI packets and prior images available for radiologist reading.
• Burns CDs/disks and imports outside imaging.
• Pushes images to and navigates across PACS platforms (Joints PACS, McKesson).
• Assists with patient pre-screening and room turnover as needed.
• Collaborates with the MRI Supervisor to address operational issues.
• Maintains clean linens and supplies (sheets, blankets, johnnies, shorts), including washing, drying, and folding.
• Demonstrates accountability in time management and completing tasks punctually.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
