MRB-Driven Quality Engineer – Aerospace

Job summary

Synstack Technologies in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an experienced Quality Engineer with 5–10 years in quality/manufacturing engineering and at least 2 years hands-on MRB experience to drive nonconformances through MRB and NCR processes.

You will review engineering drawings and GD&T, coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, inspection, supplier quality, and planning teams, and lead regular Quality Clinic meetings to ensure timely disposition and closure of issues.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in Quality/Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years hands-on MRB experience is mandatory.
• Strong nonconformance management and MRB disposition knowledge.
• Experience with NCR/NCMR/QN quality notifications.
• Solid interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Hands-on inspection of parts when needed and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience leading Quality Clinic / cross-functional meetings.
• Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate nonconforming materials through MRB.
• Review and process NCR/QN and other nonconformance docs.
• Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Inspection, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Planning, Operations, and more.
• Physically inspect nonconforming parts to understand defects.
• Review drawings, specs, inspection reports, and GD&T details.
• Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
• Evaluate nonconformances for impact on form, fit, function, performance, manufacturability.
• Support MRB dispositions such as Use-As-Is, Rework, Repair, Return to Vendor, Scrap.
• Organize and conduct regular Quality Clinic meetings.
• Present open nonconformances and aging issues during clinics.
• Track Quality Clinic actions and ensure closure.
• Drive timely MRB/NCR/QN dispositions and aging issue resolution.
• Perform or support RCA and Corrective/Preventive Actions using 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, etc.
