Job summary

RAYUS Radiology in Minnesota is seeking an MRI Technologist to operate MRI scanners and provide patient-centered imaging services. You will guide patients through procedures with compassion and ensure high safety standards throughout the exam.

This per diem position offers evenings and weekends with a flexible schedule. ARRT registration, a radiography credential, CPR certification, and state licensure (where applicable) are required, with opportunities to support the MRI department and training

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of AMA approved radiography program.
• ARRT registered technologist in good standing.
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Sufficient training and experience to perform MRI procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Screen patient before exam for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
• Explain and prepare patients for MRI procedures and position them for scanning.
• Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures with minimal supervision while providing patient support.
• Adjust MRI scan parameters as needed.
• Follow physicians' orders, ensure safety, and maintain patient records in RIS.
• Maintain an orderly, clean work area and sanitize equipment after use.
• Maintain equipment in good working order and comply with accreditation requirements.
• Assist with updating imaging protocol manuals and software upgrades.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and request necessary supplies.

Job description

The pay range for this position is $30.00-$49.06 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for an MRI Technologistto join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Taking a patient centered approach, you will provide MRI services within professional standards and with excellent customer service. Each patient comes to our centers looking for answers. You will guide patients through this sometimes difficult process by kindly talking them through the steps and answering their questions and concerns regarding exam procedures and process.

This position is per diem/casual working days, evenings, and/or weekends (no call), flexible schedule. You decide what works best in your schedule!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(90%) Patient MRI Imaging

1. Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure the correct patient and procedure
2. Explains and prepares patients for MRI procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned
3. Performs routine and advanced MRI procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeated scanned, while providing patient support by talking to patients throughout procedure
4. Adjusts MRI scan parameters correctly and as needed
5. Follows physicians’ orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS)
6. Maintains an orderly and clean work area including sanitized equipment promoting good safety habits for patients and team members
7. Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use
8. Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements

(5%) MRI Department Support

1. Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades
2. Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
3. Assists in the training of new team members, providing resource and technical expertise, as applicable

(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned

Required:

1. High School diploma, or equivalent
2. Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
3. ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
4. Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
5. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
6. Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform MRI procedures independently
7. Certification in imaging specialty
