Job summary

Freres Engineered Wood is seeking an MPP Press Operator to join Plant 6 in Lyons, Oregon. The operator will manage WIP inventory, run the MPP press, operate a 20‑ton crane hoist, and ensure proper press times and glue rates.

The role requires handling panels up to 12 ft by 48 ft and performing related light maintenance, with responsibilities spanning from job order completion to documentation and safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience Requirements: At least 6 months to 1 year in manufacturing or wood products (entry‑level with training considered for Operator 1).

Responsibilities

• Ensure the quality of scarf line operations and its application to wood products.
• Operate MPP Press and Cauldwell load hoist on 20‑ton crane and load/assemble press loads at dry stacker work center.
• Set up, operate and monitor glue station at MPP layup; perform monthly glue checks to verify application rates.
• Load, operate and assemble press loads; start and complete work orders in system; notify supervisor of needed press changes before proceeding.
• Maintain log books and required paperwork; schedule press loads; create, print and attach tags to panels; perform light maintenance and cleanup.
