Job summary

Freres Engineered Wood in Lyons, Oregon, is seeking a Shipping Specialist to support shipping, loading and transportation of manufactured panels. The role reports to the Plant Manager and the Shift Supervisor, with a day shift, and may include some Saturdays and overtime; it is a full-time hourly position.

You will coordinate movement of goods, prepare shipments, track deliveries, operate overhead cranes and lift trucks, maintain inventory, schedule large shipments and ensure space for loading.

Job Summary

The Shipping Specialist reports to the Plant Manager/Shift Supervisor and will provide support with the shipping, loading and transportation of manufactured panels.

Essential Functions

• Consistently promote high standards through personal example.


• Coordinate the movement of goods; responsible for preparing shipments, tracking deliveries and resolving shipping issues


• Pick/pack and ship order


• Operate overhead cranes


• Operate multiple size lift trucks


• Manage logistics


• Receive merchandise for return or delivery and verify contents


• Maintain and accurately record inventory which includes but is not limited to dunnage, lumber wrap, banding, etc.


• Regular Attendance and Punctual


• Identify damaged, lost, or missing products


• Label & scan products


• Unload CNC and Beamline Roll case- this includes operating roll case transfers on CNC, Beam line and Crossover Transfer


• Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure sufficient storage space for incoming items and organize stack production for correct loading of trucks and/or rail cars


• Performs cycle counts


• Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests.


• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, and workstations neat, maintaining clean shipping supply area, complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


• Completes reports by entering required information.


• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed


• Other duties as assigned


• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently and effectively.


• Good work history/ attendance record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.


• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk, or hear.


• Exposed to varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
