Job summary

Enterprise Management Solutions LLC is seeking a dependable Moving Team Lead to supervise movers and moving crews, safely operate moving trucks, and coordinate daily activities for Zebulon Perry Expediters in Baltimore City and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will lead residential and commercial moves, maintain vehicles, ensure excellent customer service, and drive profitability while adapting to a flexible, part-time schedule based on client demand.

Qualifications

  • Previous moving, logistics, warehouse, transportation, or delivery experience preferred.
  • Prior team leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate box trucks and moving vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items regularly (50-100+ lbs with assistance).
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Ability to pass background screening and motor vehicle check.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Enterprise Management Solutions LLC is seeking a dependable, professional, and experienced Moving Team Lead to support operations for our valued client, Zebulon Perry Expediters. This role is responsible for supervising movers and moving crews, safely operating moving trucks, coordinating daily job activities, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining operational profitability, and ensuring all moving projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within labor expectations.

The Moving Team Lead is also responsible for maintaining company vehicles in clean and operational condition, reporting maintenance concerns promptly, and coordinating approved vehicle repairs through company-authorized mechanics and service providers.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can manage teams in fast-paced environments, communicate professionally with customers and management, identify revenue opportunities during moves, and ensure every project is completed profitably and professionally.

Work opportunities will vary based on customer demand and operational scheduling needs.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 – $30.00 per hour

Compensation is based on: Moving and logistics experience, Leadership and crew management ability, Commercial driving experience, Operational efficiency and productivity, Customer service performance, Reliability and scheduling flexibility, Overall competence, professionalism, and ability to independently manage successful moving operations, Higher compensation levels may be offered to candidates who demonstrate: Strong leadership capabilities, Proven moving industry experience, Excellent customer satisfaction performance, Ability to complete jobs efficiently and profitably, Experience driving larger moving trucks and supervising crews, Additional earnings opportunities may include: Overtime pay, Performance incentives, Leadership advancement opportunities, Expanded operational responsibilities based on performance and company growth opportunities

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Crew Supervision

Supervise movers and moving crew members during residential, commercial, and specialty moving assignments

Assign daily responsibilities and monitor crew performance throughout each move

Ensure team members maintain professionalism, safety standards, and productivity

Conduct pre-job briefings and communicate expectations clearly

Address operational or employee concerns in real time and report issues to the Operations Manager

Ensure all crew members arrive on time, properly dressed, and prepared for work

Maintain accountability and discipline among moving crews

Train and mentor crew members on company procedures, safety standards, and customer service expectations

Truck Operation, Maintenance & Transportation

Safely operate company moving trucks and equipment in compliance with Maryland traffic laws and company policies

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company vehicles

Ensure trucks are properly loaded, balanced, and secured to prevent damage during transportation

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of company trucks and equipment

Monitor fuel usage, fluid levels, tire conditions, warning lights, and overall vehicle condition

Immediately report vehicle issues, accidents, damages, or maintenance concerns to management

Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repair needs through company-approved mechanics and vendors

Ensure trucks are serviced according to maintenance schedules established by management

Maintain records of maintenance concerns, repairs, and service appointments as required

Ensure all moving equipment is properly maintained, secured, and returned after assignments

Customer Service & Client Satisfaction

Serve as the primary on-site representative for Enterprise Management Solutions LLC and Zebulon Perry Expediters

Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers throughout each move

Ensure customers are informed about timelines, processes, and job updates

Resolve customer concerns professionally and elevate issues when necessary

Verify customer satisfaction before job completion

Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude at all times

Protect the reputation of the company through professionalism and high-quality service delivery

Operational Oversight

Review work orders, inventory lists, schedules, and customer instructions before each assignment

Coordinate loading and unloading operations efficiently

Ensure furniture, equipment, and customer property are protected during all phases of the move

Monitor inventory accuracy and accountability throughout the move

Ensure all moving supplies and equipment are available and properly used

Complete all required paperwork, reports, and documentation accurately

Ensure all moving projects are completed on schedule and within approved labor expectations

Monitor crew productivity throughout the move to prevent unnecessary labor costs or delays

Manage job pacing and workflow to ensure operational profitability

Coordinate efficient loading, unloading, travel, and setup processes to reduce downtime

Communicate with management immediately regarding delays, staffing concerns, or operational issues that may impact profitability or customer satisfaction

Ensure labor hours remain aligned with the scope of work sold to the customer

Assist management in identifying operational improvements and cost-saving opportunities

Revenue Protection & Upselling

Identify opportunities for additional services during moves, including: Packing and unpacking, Junk removal, Additional delivery stops, Storage services, Furniture assembly/disassembly, Oversized or specialty item handling, Extended labor requests, Last-minute customer add-ons

Ensure all additional customer requests or upsell services are documented and approved by management before work is performed

Assist management in maximizing job profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction

Ensure no unpaid additional services are performed without management authorization

Support accurate reporting of additional labor, materials, and service adjustments during active jobs

Notify management immediately when opportunities arise to increase revenue on-site

Payment Verification & Financial Accountability

Confirm with management that customer payment arrangements have been completed before services begin

Ensure no moves start without management approval regarding payment status

Protect company profitability by ensuring labor and operational costs remain controlled throughout the move

Monitor time usage, crew efficiency, and resource allocation to avoid unnecessary operational expenses

Communicate any customer disputes, change orders, or payment concerns immediately to management

Obtain all required customer signatures, approvals, and completion confirmations

Submit all job documentation, receipts, and reports promptly after each assignment

Safety & Compliance

Enforce safe lifting practices and proper equipment usage

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards

Maintain awareness of hazards at job sites

Report accidents, injuries, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately

Ensure proper use of dollies, straps, ramps, moving pads, and protective materials

Maintain confidentiality and professionalism regarding customer information and property

Ensure compliance with company vehicle, driving, and operational policies
