Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in College Station seeks an Animal Research Technician to support breeding, colony maintenance, and genotyping of laboratory mouse strains, ensuring animal health and welfare while maintaining detailed records.

You will work with research staff on various projects, follow SOPs, learn tissue collection and genotyping workflows, and help manage colony logistics in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of related experience in animal husbandry.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Breeding colony management across multiple mouse strains and monitoring breeding performance.
  • Maintain accurate colony records, update logs and lineage information.
  • Collect tissue samples for genotyping and coordinate with staff on PCR workflows.
  • Follow SOPs and institutional guidelines; perform other duties as assigned.
