Responsibilities
- Mouse colony maintenance (breeding, genotyping, injections, record keeping)
- Perform RNA/DNA extractions, processing, and analytical methods (including qPCR and genomic library preparations)
- Perform cell and embryo culture
- Assist other laboratory members and technical staff in the design, planning, and coordinating of experiments in support of various research projects
- Use computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of research experiments and detailed records of data
- Order and receive laboratory supplies and maintain inventory
- Maintain laboratory equipment
- Oversee laboratory safety
- Assist the principal investigator and other laboratory methods with preparing reports, figures, invoices, cataloging records and other documents
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
- Assist undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related field
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in biology, genetics, developmental biology, or related field
- Two or more years of related experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment
- Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position
- Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General molecular biology and bench laboratory experience
- Nucleic acid extraction and analysis
- Small animal handling and husbandry experience
- Genomic sequencing experience (RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIP-Seq)
- Cell, tissue, or embryo culture
