Job summary

The Conservation Fund seeks a Regional Director of Fundraising, Mountain West, to lead fundraising across Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and New Mexico. This hybrid role in the Denver/Boulder area may also be remote across the Mountain West.

You will shape strategy, build relationships with major donors and foundations, manage a large donor portfolio, and develop fundraising opportunities around conservation priorities with collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of fundraising experience with six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Experience managing relationships with major donors and foundations.
• Strong grant writing and proposal development experience.
• Knowledge of conservation funding and the environmental nonprofit sector; familiarity with Mountain West/Southwest preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong strategic thinking, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who works independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute fundraising strategy for the Mountain West and Southwest.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of ~150 major donors and prospects through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Build relationships with foundations and philanthropic partners.
• Develop philanthropic opportunities around priority conservation projects and organizational needs.
• Lead proposals, grant requests, donor communications, briefings, and other fundraising materials.
• Coordinate with fundraising colleagues nationally on opportunities crossing regions.
• Represent TCF with donors and funders through meetings, site visits, events, and engagement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate donor strategies and CRM data.
