Job summary

The Conservation Fund seeks a Regional Director of Fundraising to lead strategy across Mountain West and Southwest regions. This leadership role will build a strong regional fundraising program, cultivate major donors, and secure support for conservation priorities.

Remote in Mountain West with preference for hybrid in Denver/Boulder, CO; travel to donor meetings, site visits, and events will be required.

Qualifications

• At least 5-7 years of fundraising experience with success securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Experience developing and managing relationships with major donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners.
• Strong grant writing and proposal development experience.
• Knowledge of conservation funding and the environmental nonprofit sector; familiarity with Mountain West and Southwest preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to advocate for conservation.
• Strong strategic thinking, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter who works independently and in teams.
• Builder’s mentality to identify opportunities and move ideas into action.
• Experience mentoring or developing staff.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the fundraising strategy for the Mountain West and Southwest.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 150 major donors and prospects.
• Build new relationships with major donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners.
• Partner with field staff to develop donor strategies.
• Develop philanthropic opportunities around priority conservation projects and needs.
• Lead and contribute to proposals, grant requests, donor communications, and materials.
• Coordinate with fundraising colleagues nationally on cross-region opportunities.
• Represent TCF with donors and funders through meetings, site visits, events.
• Maintain donor strategies and activities in CRM.
