Job summary

Crystal Mountain Resort seeks a dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team across multiple mountain venues. This role thrives in fast-paced settings, embraces variety, and involves stepping into different kitchens with confidence. On-mountain access is required, and skiing or snowboarding is necessary.

The role reports to the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef, with opportunities to grow within Alterra Mountain Company. This seasonal, full-time position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in Food & Beverage.
• Minimum 1 year in Culinary BOH management.
• Strong culinary skills across multiple cuisines.
• Ability to ski or snowboard proficiently.
• Familiarity with MS Office; ordering, costing and kitchen accounting.
• Serv Safe certification or WA Food Handlers Permit.
• Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support Executive Chefs across multiple venues, adapting to different kitchens.
• Execute all kitchen functions including prep, cooking, inventory, and sanitation.
• Learn and master a variety of menus.
• Maintain high culinary standards in high-volume and full-service settings.
• Ski or snowboard on-mountain venues as needed.
• Lead in Head Chef's absence and train staff across venues.
• Uphold food safety and cleanliness standards.
• Mentor kitchen staff and manage costs.
• Communicate professionally and ensure BOH staff are trained.
• Adhere to policies and SOPs directed by Resort Executive Chef.
