WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

We need this position to support daily production operations at the Fremont plant and ensure production lines continue running safely, efficiently, and with the required quality standards. The Production Operator is responsible for operating production equipment, managing scrap, maintaining productivity levels, and supporting a positive team environment focused on Safety, Quality Assurance, and Efficiency.This role is essential because Production Operators directly support the flow of manufacturing by running efficient production lines, monitoring product and equipment, identifying issues, and making immediate adjustments when needed to ensure finished products meet quality specifications. Without adequate staffing in this role, the plant may experience delays, reduced productivity, increased downtime, quality concerns, and added pressure on existing employees and supervisors.The Production Operator also helps maintain a clean, organized, and safe production floor by keeping work areas free of debris and properly stocked for the incoming shift. This supports shift-to-shift continuity, reduces safety risks, and helps ensure employees can perform their work without unnecessary interruptions.In addition, this position is needed to maintain strong communication across the production team. The Production Operator is expected to communicate problems or needs to the supervisor, assistant supervisor, and team members, while also working closely with others to troubleshoot issues and identify better solutions. This collaboration is critical in a manufacturing environment where timely communication can prevent production delays, safety issues, and quality defects.This role also supports the plant’s continuous improvement culture by participating in and promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement ideas and events. Having qualified Production Operators in place allows the Fremont plant to maintain operational stability, support production goals, and ensure employees are focused on safe and efficient work practices.Overall, the Production Operator position is necessary to meet production needs, maintain quality expectations, support safety requirements, reduce operational risk, and ensure the plant has the staffing needed to run production lines effectively.

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the pay rate for this position which is $25.95 per hour, plus shift differential of 3rd Shift $0.70/hr. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives For This Role Include

Shift Differentials (i.e. Hourly Rate plus 2nd Shift Differential of $0.60/ hr; Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $0.70/ hr)

Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)

Attendance Incentive for Meeting Company Attendance Requirements (i.e. $300s per quarter)

Weekend Shift Incentive (i.e. Hourly Rate plus Weekend Differential of overtime on Saturday and double-time on Sunday)

This role may be covered by a Union. In the event of any discrepancy between this posting and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), the CBA shall govern.
