Job summary

Giants Ridge is seeking a Mountain Operations Technician to support year-round mountain activities. Responsibilities include snowmaking, grooming, trail and grounds maintenance, and equipment operation, under the Mountain Manager. Safety, sound judgment, and independent work in all weather are essential.

The role involves operating diverse equipment, performing inspections and maintenance, and assisting with seasonal openings and special projects while delivering high-quality guest service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Class D driver's license.
• Minimum of one year of heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment and machinery to support mountain operations.
• Perform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, fueling, and basic maintenance.
• Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and tasks.
• Operate snow grooming equipment to shape and maintain ski surfaces.
• Conduct snowmaking operations, setup, monitoring, maintenance, relocation, and shutdown.
• Monitor weather, snow quality, and production; adjust operations accordingly.
• Assist with transporting and storing snowmaking equipment.
• Perform trail and grounds maintenance including mowing and vegetation management.
• Operate snowmobiles, ATVs/UTVs, and other equipment.
• Assist with seasonal opening/closing procedures for slopes and facilities.
• Identify and report equipment deficiencies or safety concerns to management.
• Support events and mountain projects; provide quality guest service.
