Job summary

Technique, Inc. in Concord, North Carolina, seeks a Quality Inspector to join the NASCAR operations team.

This hands-on, floor-based role covers incoming, in-process, and final inspection to ensure chassis, welds, and race-ready assemblies meet NASCAR drawings and specifications before shipment. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will read blueprints, apply GD&T, operate calipers, micrometers, laser scanning and CMM equipment, and maintain serialized traceability records while supporting

Qualifications

• Must read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Minimum 3 years of quality inspection in fabrication, welding, or precision manufacturing.
• Motorsports or high-precision, low-volume manufacturing experience is a strong plus.
• Proficient with precision measuring instruments and CMMs.
• Experience with laser scanning and Polyworks preferred; willing to be trained.

Responsibilities

• Incoming inspection of material, tubing, sheet stock, and outsourced parts.
• In-process inspection at defined points during fabrication, welding, and assembly.
• Final inspection of chassis and assemblies against NASCAR drawings and specifications.
• First article inspections and prepare dimensional reports.
• Dimensional verification with calipers, micrometers, height gages, and other tools.
• Operate laser scanners, laser trackers, and Polyworks for CAD comparison.
• Weld inspection per AWS requirements; dye penetrant and magnetic particle inspection as directed.
• Verify chassis jigs and fixtures for accuracy; report wear or damage.
• Verify torque values and hardware installation; perform functional checks.
• Record serial numbers, material certs, weld records, and inspection results for traceability.
• Identify, tag, segregate, and document nonconforming material; support MRB with inspection data.
• Complete inspection reports and quality records following control procedures.
• Support calibration recall program and ensure calibrated equipment.
• Provide data and observations to support root cause investigations (8D, 5 Why).
• Collaborate with fabricators to communicate issues and keep parts moving on schedule.
• Support customer inspections and certification activities as needed.
• Suggest improvements to inspection methods, fixtures, and processes.
