Job summary

OSM Thome is seeking a Motorman/Oiler to support engine room operations aboard bulk carriers trading worldwide. You will work with the engine team to maintain machinery in safe, efficient condition and support watchkeeping engineers.

The role requires MTM certificate and STCW documents, sea service in the engine room, a solid understanding of operations and safety, and the fitness to work in a multinational crew.

Qualifications

• MTM certificate and STCW documents are required.
• Previous sea service in the engine room is preferred.
• Good understanding of engine room operations and safety.
• Must be medically fit for duty with a valid medical certificate.
• Ability to work in a multinational team and follow instructions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist watchkeeping engineers with daily engine room duties.
• Carry out routine oiling, greasing and cleaning of machinery.
• Perform maintenance on pumps, purifiers, compressors and auxiliary equipment.
• Monitor and report leaks, abnormal sounds and any defects.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the engine room.
• Assist during bunkering, transfers and other engine-related operations.
