Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a capable supervisor for the Motor Vehicle division to oversee front line staff, manage registrations and titles, and ensure smooth operation of sub-contractor sites. You will balance cash, assist customers, and support management in procedural updates and staff training.

The role involves rotating responsibilities, maintaining records, and resolving complex MV issues while ensuring public service standards are met.

Qualifications

• Requires 5 years office or retail experience, 3 of which must be motor vehicle experience with TxDMV RTS or equivalent.
• Must know all phases of motor vehicle registration, titles, regulations, and laws.
• Aptitude for basic math and knowledge of office equipment operation.
• Experience dealing with the public.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Motor Vehicle front line staff and maintains personnel records; monitors productivity and attendance; audits work.
• Opens and closes motor vehicle cash registers and balances registers; may prepare bank deposits.
• Assists customers by mail, telephone, and in person; assists staff with customers and/or technical problems.
• Issues controlled supplies; checks receipts; maintains detailed inventory records; conducts audits for accuracy.
• Assumes the Manager's duties in absence; participates in hiring and training; prepares reports for management.
• Resolves high level MV problems; researches MV questions and provides appropriate response.
• Coordinates assignments; resolves staffing issues with Managers; recommends updates to procedures and documentation.
