Job summary

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking a trained Motor Vehicle Inspector to perform vehicle inspections and issue decals for safety compliance. You will enter data into state databases, generate inspection reports, and communicate needed repairs to owners or operators.

The role requires 6 months in automotive maintenance or inspection, basic computer skills, and a valid driver's license. Full-time hours with OCSEA union benefits and paid leave apply.

Qualifications

• Public Safety experience helpful
• Automotive inspection knowledge
• Use of basic documentation and databases

Responsibilities

• Inspect motor vehicles (motor homes, campers, school buses, church buses, self-assembled, salvage) to determine safety and proper equipment.
• Enter and retrieve information using OSHP databases; complete inspection forms and decals.
• Inform owners/operators of repairs or adjustments needed for safety.
