Job summary

McCody is seeking a Finish Grader Operator to use motor graders and related heavy equipment to create smooth, precise surfaces on roads, parking lots, and yards. The role emphasizes safety, detailed grading, and routine maintenance, with strong emphasis on accuracy and quality control.

You will work Monday–Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm, with extended hours and weekends as needed. Pay is $34.00/hr, DOE, with a comprehensive benefits package; valid D license and drug/background checks required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old
• Able to lift 50+ pounds
• Pre-employment drug test and background check required

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor heavy equipment including motor graders and related machinery
• Adjust equipment settings to meet production and quality targets
• Perform rough and fine grade finishing to exact design specifications
• Maintain unpaved roads by blading and shaping the crown
• Conduct routine inspections and assist with maintenance and repairs
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime
• Maintain logs of maintenance and repair work
• Communicate with customers, supervisors, and site personnel for quality and efficiency
• Adhere to MSHA/OSHA safety standards and use PPE
• Coordinate with maintenance for dust control, snow removal, and grounds upkeep
