Virginia Paving Company is seeking a skilled Motor Grader Equipment Operator for full-time, hourly work in the Norfolk, Virginia area. This seasonal position requires operating a motor grader on construction projects, with duties spanning pre-start maintenance to final grading and shaping to meet plan specifications.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members in an outdoor

Qualifications

• Experience operating a motor grader on roads/highways/bridges.
• Strong ability to understand work directions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
• 3–5 years of industry-related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-start and daily maintenance including lubrication.
• Keep equipment clean and well maintained; report any repairs.
• Check tire pressure and monitor engine gauges regularly.
• Operate blade controls and perform scrap and level dirt tasks.
• Shape subgrades and grade to plan specifications; set grade standards.
• Lead a crew and delegate tasks within scope when needed.
