Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Motor Grader/Blade Operator II to support the construction of a major bridge project for LADOTD. You will operate heavy machinery to spread and level materials, shape terrain, and maintain roadways in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3+ years of experience with construction equipment and may prefer NCCER Certification. The position offers relocation assistance if needed as well as comprehensive benefits and paid time off.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew using signals.
• Operate efficiently and safely; perform other duties as assigned.

Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana (USA) for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD). LBB will also be responsible for the reconstruction of interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5 mile stretch between I-210 West End and Ryan Street. Position Purpose/Summary

The Motor Grader/Blade Operator II is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by operating heavy machinery to spread and level materials (such as dirt, gravel, or asphalt), create smooth and even surfaces, and maintain roadways or construction.

Location

This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate machinery to complete tasks such as grading, leveling, clearing debris, digging trenches, and pushing materials.
2. Shape terrain, move large volumes of earth, rocks, and rubble according to blueprints and construction plans.
3. Perform rough and finish grading with high precision
4. Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
5. Perform basic routine operator maintenance, lubrication, and fueling of equipment.
6. Coordinate machine actions with crew members using hand or audio signals.
7. Operate machinery to perform tasks efficiently and safely.
8. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At a minimum, the Motor Grader/Blade Operator II must have 3+ years of relevant, proven, experience operating construction equipment.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Certification is preferred.
