Honeybee Robotics in Colorado seeks an experienced motor designer to advance spacecraft motion systems. You will develop permanent magnet motors, electromagnetic devices, and actuation solutions for NASA/defense programs, driving performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electromechanical Eng or related field.
5–7 years in motor/electromagnetic product design (PMAC/PMDC/BLDC).
Experience with 2D/3D electromagnetics FEA (Maxwell; MotorCAD preferred).

Responsibilities

Design and develop PMAC/PMDC/BLDC motors and electromagnetic devices.
Perform electromagnetic simulations and material selection for performance and manufacturability.
Develop electrical architectures, windings, and interfaces from concept to release.
Mechanical design of prototype, production, and test hardware for electromagnetics components.
Collaborate on integration with drives, control electronics, and sensors.
Create and maintain engineering docs: drawings, models, BOMs, calculations, specs.
Support prototyping, validation, qualification, and environmental testing.
Analyze test data, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause investigations.
Partner with cross-functional teams; interface with customers to resolve requirements.
Contribute to reliability analyses (FMEA/MTBF) and continuous improvement.
Research new materials/technologies to enhance product performance.
