Job summary

Alvand Transportation is seeking a Motor Coach Operator in Santa Barbara, CA. You will safely operate motor coaches, follow routes, and ensure passenger safety while delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time role requires a Class A or B license with Passenger Endorsement, a DOT Medical card, and a strong commitment to safety. Paid training and paid time off are offered, with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years experience driving a commercial motor vehicle.
• Valid DOT Medical card.
• Valid Class A or B license with Passenger Endorsement and commercial air brake systems.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
• All required licensing/endorsements and DOT compliance must be in place to operate.

Responsibilities

• Safe Operation of Motor Coaches: Safely operate motor coaches, ensuring the safety of passengers and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing their needs and ensuring a pleasant travel experience.
• Route Management: Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure at each stop.
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, conduct, and uniform standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and other required documentation.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the dispatch team, reporting any delays, issues, or emergencies promptly.

Responsibilities:

• Safe Operation of Motor Coaches:
  • Safely operate motor coaches, ensuring the safety of passengers and adherence to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the coach is in proper working order.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance issues or concerns promptly.
• Customer Service:
  • Provide excellent customer service to passengers, addressing their needs and ensuring a pleasant travel experience.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, especially those with special needs or disabilities.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.
• Route Management:
  • Follow assigned routes and schedules, ensuring timely arrival and departure at each stop.
  • Adjust routes as needed based on traffic conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, while keeping passengers informed of any changes.
• Compliance and Safety:

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years experience driving a commercial motor vehicle.

- Valid DOT Medical card.

- Strong customer service skills and professional attitude required.

- Valid Class A or B license with Passenger Endorsement and commercial air brake systems.

- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

- Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

All required licensing/endorsements and DOT compliance must be in place to operate.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Professional drivers with or without SPAB (School Pupil Activity Bus) certification.

- Experience as a school bus or transit driver.

Physical Requirements:

- Good vision and hearing, with or without corrective devices.
