Job summary

Avalon Transportation in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Motorcoach Bus Operator to join our team as a Charter Driver. You will provide safe, reliable transportation to a diverse clientele aboard a 56-passenger bus and ensure timely pickups.

This full-time role offers competitive pay, a $2500 sign-on bonus, and excellent benefits; ideal candidates hold a CDL Class A or B with airbrakes and passenger endorsements, plus 2 years of charter-bus experience.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License Class A or Class B is required
• Airbrakes endorsement is required
• Passenger Endorsement is required
• School Bus certificate is a plus
• Minimum of 2 years of charter-bus driving experience
• Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, drug screens, DOT physicals, and MVR checks
• Proficiency with GPS and electronic hours-of-service tracking
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to communicate clearly by telephone, two-way radio, and in person
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to understand and follow verbal & written instructions

Responsibilities

• Pick up passengers at assigned locations promptly
• Complete pre/post-trip bus inspections for each shift
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations
• Complete required written reports
• Follow assigned routes and make designated stops
• Assist passengers with luggage as needed
• Ensure the safety of passengers, surrounding vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists
• Maintain proper and clean attire
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Position Overview

Physical Qualifications

• Able to lift and move baggage (up to 50lbs.), maneuver up and down stairs, and repeatedly bend, kneel, and stretch
• Able to remain stationary (sitting) for extended periods
