Job summary

ABB is seeking an on-site Motor Assembly Technician in Flowery Branch, GA to assemble electric motors and subassemblies, test and troubleshoot, and ensure quality for shipment. You will perform maintenance on equipment and follow safety practices in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Strong English skills and a background/drug screen are required. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant experience or vocational training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of industrial/military experience or vocational/technical education preferred.
• Must pass background and drug screen; U.S. work authorization required.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; safety-minded.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and build electric motors and subassemblies by installing rotors, stators, brackets, brush rigging, cable caps, brakes, tachometers, blower motors, and other accessories according to specifications.
• Test, inspect, and troubleshoot motors by performing routine electrical and mechanical tests, completing required documentation, and correcting defects identified during assembly or testing.
• Finish and prepare products for shipment by machining and fitting components as needed, painting to customer requirements, applying nameplates, labels, and warning tags, conducting final inspections, and crating motors.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on assembly equipment, following safe factory practices, and applying knowledge of motor assembly techniques and basic shop mathematics.
