Job summary

ABB is seeking an assembler to build electric motors and subassemblies at our Flowery Branch, GA site. You will assemble components, test and inspect motors, and prepare products for shipment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (or equivalent), 1 year of industrial experience, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel. Ability to work overtime and pass background/drug screening is required. Onsite work model in Flowery Branch, GA.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1 Year of industrial or military experience, or vocational/technical education; motor manufacturing experience preferred. Prior leadership experience preferred with the ability to set high performance standards for self and others.
  • Adaptability and organization: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change, with a willingness to cross-train and maintain a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Technical and operational proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must pass a background and drug screen and have valid U.S. work authorization. Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Regular attendance and availability for overtime are essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and build electric motors and subassemblies by installing rotors, stators, brackets, brush rigging, cable caps, brakes, tachometers, blower motors, and other accessories according to specifications.
  • Test, inspect, and troubleshoot motors by performing routine electrical and mechanical tests, completing required documentation, and correcting defects identified during assembly or testing.
  • Finish and prepare products for shipment by machining and fitting components as needed, painting to customer requirements, applying nameplates, labels, and warning tags, conducting final inspections, and crating motors.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on assembly equipment, following safe factory practices, and applying knowledge of motor assembly techniques and basic shop mathematics.

Your role and responsibilities:
