Base pay range

$94,000.00/yr - $142,000.00/yr

Facebook is looking for a Motion Designer to join the Design Language team, supporting the Facebook App. This team focuses on creating, maintaining, and evolving visual systems that define our brand, including icons, emojis, product illustration, photography, and live action creative. The person in this role will leverage motion to shape and lead design communications across multiple product initiatives. As an experienced designer, you will collaborate with art directors, illustrators, content strategists, and product designers to develop and enhance work from a design perspective.

Responsibilities:

• Execute communication design across various surfaces, using motion and animation to enhance perceived performance and expression.
• Identify creative opportunities to improve existing styles and approaches.
• Create motion-based or animated designs, sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and design specifications to guide development of consistent experiences based on stakeholder input and research.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Produce engaging conceptual and expressive communication designs that reflect a cohesive visual style and tone.
• Inspire teammates, give and receive feedback, and critique respectfully.
• Manage multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks, and ensure project progress.
• Communicate design directions effectively while contributing as a hands-on designer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in Motion Design.
• Portfolio link showcasing your work (include on your resume).
• Experience creating motion-based designs for visual systems and graphic elements, including illustrations and iconography.
• Experience with visual storytelling involving motion or animation.
• Knowledge of digital product design.
• Experience designing for digital surfaces (mobile, web).
• Portfolio demonstrating conceptual skills, composition, and color.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with motion frameworks like Lottie and Keyframes, and design tools such as Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Sketch.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and solve problems proactively.
• Experience working across multiple digital platforms and teams, with a curious and experimental mindset.
• Proven ability to deliver innovative work on time and align with strategic goals.
• Focused experience in Communication Design.
