Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN is hiring a Mother Baby Nurse (RN) to provide and coordinate patient care for postpartum and newborn patients. You will educate patients and families, monitor vitals, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans.

Applicants should have a nursing degree, Tennessee RN license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of RN experience; Mother Baby experience preferred. Comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
• Current licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or other acceptable Board of Nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1 Year of RN experience Required.
• Mother Baby experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
• Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
• Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
• Direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
• Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
• Provide care—demonstrating competency in the care of the postpartum and newborn patient population.
• Prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• Provide education to patients related to self-care and newborn care.
• Provide education to patients on discharge instructions.
• Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state and other governing bodies such as Joint Commission.
• Support the facility’s Standards of Performance and ICARE values.

Mother Baby Nurse

Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. RNs must use independent and considerable judgment in providing a wide variety of services. As directed by a physician, RNs also give patients medicines and treatments
