Job summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a supervisor to oversee the full range of chemical and biological mosquito eradication methods, providing leadership, training, and direction to technicians. You will monitor breeding sites, schedule treatments, conduct surveillance, respond to public inquiries, and coordinate with emergency management during disasters.

A Bachelor's in Biology/Entomology/Epidemiology and at least three years in vector control with leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Entomology, Epidemiology, or a closely related field.
• 3 years of experience in vector control or integrated pest management, with 1 year in team leadership directing technicians.
• Experience in programmatic planning and developing workgroup policies aligned with public health goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day responsibilities for chemical and biological mosquito eradication methods.
• Provide leadership, training, and direction to the team.
• Monitor mosquito breeding sites and adult activity and assign staff for treatments and schedules.
• Test mosquitoes for disease and determine spraying time based on environmental factors.
• Assist with emergency management activities during local disasters.
