You will plan programs, respond to inquiries, and participate in emergency management during local disasters, ensuring safe, effective operations and compliance with public health goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, entomology, epidemiology or related field.
• 3 years in vector control or integrated pest management with leadership experience.
• Experience planning programs and aligning with public health goals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee chemical and biological mosquito eradication methods and surveillance.
• Monitor breeding sites and adult activity; assign staff and schedules.
• Perform mosquito surveillance and maintain traps and equipment.
• Inspect public health pest problems near wetlands, waterways and storm systems.
• Respond to citizen concerns with courteous, confident communication.
• Test mosquitoes for disease and determine spraying timing based on conditions.
