First Merchants Bank seeks a Manager, Mortgage Loan Underwriting to lead an underwriting team across our footprint in Indiana, Ohio, or Michigan. The role focuses on delivering quality loan decisions within risk guidelines and driving performance against pipeline metrics.

You will coach and develop underwriters and analysts, stay current on mortgage products and policies, and partner with sales and operations to resolve complex cases and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 8 years underwriting conventional, VA, FHA, Jumbo and Community Development products, plus 5 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage assigned underwriters and appraisal analysts to meet pipeline metrics and risk parameters.
• Develop and maintain understanding of mortgage lending products, policies and required documentation.
