Job summary

Jet HomeLoans, LP is a National Mortgage Lender headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, seeking an Underwriter to handle complex loan applications and manage an assigned pipeline. You will underwrite Government and Conventional (FNMA/Freddie Mac) loans, ensure salability, and stay current with investor guidelines.

The role requires 2+ years of underwriting experience, strong knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC, and familiarity with TRID, TILA, ECOA and HMDA.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of new mortgage underwriting experience
• Excellent working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC guidelines
• Deep knowledge of federal and state laws (TRID, TILA, ECOA, HMDA)
• Ablе to navigate loan origination software and other technologies
• Able to write correspondence and present information to peers, borrowers and clients
• Able to read and interpret loan documents such as promissory notes and agency directives
• Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and resolve situations
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Able to apply basic math for discounts, interest, etc.
• Basic computer skills: word processing, email, mortgage software

Responsibilities

• Underwriting Government and Conventional (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) loans
• Ensures loans approved are salable and conform to investor and insurer guidelines
• Keeps up with investor and insurer guidelines/programs
• Analyzes borrower income (all types), assets and credit/liabilities
• Calculates simple and complex income types
• Ensures assigned pipeline closes timely and KPIs/KRIs are met
• Reviews and resolves complex loan issues
• Develops strong working relationships with sales, processing, underwriting, closing, secondary and compliance teams
• Responds timely to QA/QC reviews
• Reports material process and policy gaps to Underwriting Leadership
• Underwriter reports directly to an Underwriting Manager
