Qualifications

• Five years minimum experience in mortgage operations or risk management.
• Strong understanding of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA guidelines.
• Proven ability to analyze loan defects and provide resolutions.
• Experience in appraisals review and secondary market standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and loan documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key point-of-contact for questions related to repurchases and loan defects and for mortgage exam support.
• Evaluate underwriting decisions and analyze loan-to-value, debt-to-income, credit, income and assets to resolve defects.
• Review appraisals to ensure compliance with standards.
• Serve as 2nd reviewer for written responses to loan defects prior to agency submission.
• Liaise between operations and QC to resolve audit defects.
• Maintain knowledge of credit policies and suggest updates as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve escalated issues and improve procedures.
• Create and format internal documents, matrices, and checklists.
• Assist with monitoring and remediation reports and with special projects.
