CTG is seeking to fill a Mortgage Processor I opening for our client in New York.

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

Overview

Ensure new loan applications are prepared for processing or underwriting while adhering to M&T's standard turn times. Performs a variety of duties, both clerical and technical, to support the mortgage application process.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain effective communication with all parties involved in the mortgage application process, including customers, brokers, correspondents, loan officers, and co-workers, ensuring a seamless and positive experience
• Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to obtain necessary documentation such as Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, Title Search, appraisal reports, and FHA case assignments
• Promptly notify relevant parties of any irregularities related to standard mortgage guidelines
• Prepare and reconcile required reports
• Monitor and process all incoming loan conditions via email, fax, or mail, ensuring documentation is accurately marked in the system
• Review systems for compliance with all regulatory and internal policy requirements
• Adhere to applicable compliance and operational risk controls in line with company and regulatory standards
• Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand
• Maintain internal control standards and address any issues identified by internal or external audits or regulators
• Complete additional duties as assigned

Education And Experience Required

• High School diploma or GED
• One year of prior clerical, customer service, operations, or financial services industry experience
• Proficiency in PC applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and email software
• Ability to make informed decisions based on available information
• Knowledge of mortgage product, investor, and compliance requirements
• Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced and dynamic mortgage environment
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $35,000 to $45,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
