Job summary

First National Bank Texas is seeking an experienced Mortgage Originator to originate high quality home loans, develop relationships with real estate agents and builders, and manage a defined territory while training staff on mortgage basics.

You will take borrower applications, review credit, and present programs at seminars to support sales. Travel may be required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of in-person mortgage origination experience with a solid book of business.
• Experience in a commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional mortgage loan programs.
• Knowledge of Ellie Mae mortgage originating and processing software.
• Self-motivation with ability to work from a home office with limited supervision.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Must pass background investigation per policy.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans meeting FCMC guidelines.
• Develop relationships with local Real Estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory for First National Bank Texas and First Convenience banks; train employees on mortgage loan basics.
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations to include First Time Home Buyer Seminars, realtor sales meetings, product training, etc.
