Job summary

Busey is seeking a Mortgage Originator to develop new business and originate quality mortgage loans in line with Bank policies. You will work with internal lines of business to cross-sell other products and deepen relationships with customers.

Responsibilities include consulting with borrowers, negotiating terms, preparing applications, and ensuring timely disclosures and underwriting decisions within authority.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma.
• NMLS registration with SAFE Act compliance is required.
• Experience in mortgage lending or related operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with customers to assess borrowing needs and negotiate terms.
• Assist in preparing mortgage loan applications and gather required documents.
• Make commitments on behalf of the Bank for rate terms and approvals.
• Ensure disclosures and good faith estimates are provided on time.
• Analyze financial data to support underwriting decisions within authority.
• Develop referral networks through outreach and events.
