Job summary

Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to manage the processing of mortgage loan applications from submission through closing. You will collaborate with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, title and escrow professionals, appraisers, and other partners to ensure conditions are obtained and cleared in a timely, accurate manner.

This role emphasizes compliance, attention to detail, and excellent communication, with a pay range of $25.75 to $30.75

Qualifications

• Three years of mortgage loan processing experience.
• Strong knowledge of conventional, non-conforming, and HELOC lending guidelines.
• Experience with Encompass or another loan origination system.
• Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP).
• Working knowledge of real estate lending compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and package mortgage loans accurately and within established timelines.
• Monitor daily processing requests and manage multiple loan files.
• Communicate with borrowers regarding underwriting conditions and obtain required documentation.
• Open title and escrow and coordinate with title and escrow professionals.
• Order and follow up on appraisals, payoffs, and other required documentation.
• Prepare and update Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures as needed.
• Review and audit appraisal reports and address issues.
• Collaborate with Underwriting to obtain approval and clear conditions.
• Coordinate pre-closing loan packages with Compliance and Quality Control.
• Submit completed files to the Closing/Funding team.
• Work with closing attorneys, title and escrow officers, real estate agents, and other professionals.
