Job summary

1st Community Federal Credit Union in San Angelo, TX is seeking a Full Time Mortgage Assistant who will manage the mortgage process and provide high-quality service to members. Candidate should have a high school diploma and about two years of public customer service experience, ideally in a financial institution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years applicable public contact experience in customer service, preferably with at least one year in a financial institution.

Responsibilities

• Represent the credit union in a courteous and professional manner.
• Open new member accounts and provide a one-stop member experience with related products and services.
• Assist Mortgage Loan Officer by researching mortgage and real estate loan problems.
• Cross-sell credit union products and services to meet members' needs.
• Receive mortgage loan requests via in-person, online, or phone; ensure complete information and pull credit reports as needed.
• Ensure HMDA data is accurately captured and HMDA reports are filed annually.
• Set up and maintain mortgage loan files, explain forms, disburse funds, and follow up on missing documents.
• Monitor mortgage loans for accuracy of documents, files, and computer records.
• Record and file real estate documents with county clerks; address mortgage information requests with the loan officer.
• Provide mortgage loan payoff information and release liens when applicable.
• Handle mortgage-related calls, researching and resolving issues with the loan officer.
