Job summary

Rate, a top national retail mortgage lender, is seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor for end-to-end processing in the Charlotte, NC area. You will gather and process loan documentation, ensure compliance with policy, and guide files through underwriting and closing with a focus on accuracy and customer satisfaction.

The role offers compensation of $50–$60K per year plus per-file bonuses, with remote eligibility while residing in the Charlotte area.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent experience in the residential mortgage industry – Conventional, FHA, and VA.
  • Excellent disposition, mindset, communication skills, and work ethic.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong listening, problem-solving skills, and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • An inherent love of and desire to serve clients and create something unique and fantastic.
  • A commitment to integrity and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Review each loan file to verify that documents are present, accurate, and complete before underwriting.
  • Manage loan process through mortgage software system
  • Ensure that loan rules, obligations, and deadlines are met
  • Audit and prepare quality files that meet closing objectives
  • Obtain mortgage loan documentation for clients
  • Work closely with our Loan Officers to ensure a timely and accurate experience for our clients—from first-time home buyers to refinancers—throughout the entire mortgage process.
  • Scheduling and tracking of closing dates, contingency dates, and loan lock expirations.
  • Review loan approvals and address all conditions required for underwriting and closing.
  • Receive ongoing, comprehensive training and become an expert on home loan products and the mortgage process.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate loan files to the Closing Department.
  • Use state-of-the-art technology to manage your loan pipeline as well as conduct credit and underwriting analysis.
  • Provide world-class customer service and respectful, consultative guidance to your clients.

Compensation: $50-$60K per year + per file bonus

This candidate will be responsible for the entire end-to-end mortgage loan process. They will gather and process all loan documentation and ensure compliance with policy, regulatory, and loan terms.

Can work remotely but needs to live in the Charlotte, NC area.
