GEM Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate mortgage loans and manage the full application process in a field-based capacity across California. You will interview borrowers, gather documents, and coordinate with underwriting and funding teams to close loans.

The role emphasizes building client relationships, maintaining knowledge of lending programs, and meeting regulatory requirements while working primarily outside the office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• NMLS MLO license is required.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of automated underwriting systems (DU/LP), HUD and RESPA regulations.

Responsabilités

• Originate own sales by contacting prospective clients and developing referral sources.
• Spend 50%+ of time away from office networking and meeting clients.
• Interviews, takes applications, and processes preliminary loan documentation.
• Discuss loan alternatives, credit criteria, interest rates, and loan documentation with customers.
• Submit files to operations for processing, underwriting, closing, and funding.
• Lock rates and programs for customers in a timely manner.
• Maintain professional business relationships with customers and referral partners.
