Carter Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to source, structure and close 1-4 family real estate loans, while building referral networks with branches and external partners. The role involves taking applications, collecting documents, running calculations, and guiding borrowers through underwriting to closing.

Ideal candidates will have prior mortgage origination experience, thorough knowledge of loan programs, and strong customer service and sales skills to support relationship banking

Qualifications

• Must have prior mortgage origination experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage programs (conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo).
• Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop residential real estate loans.
• Collaborate with branches to establish referral plans.
• Conduct loan interviews to assess borrower needs.
• Take applications, collect documents, and perform calculations.
• Submit files to underwriting and ensure accuracy of collateral.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain client relationships.
