Qualifications

• Residential mortgage origination knowledge
• Experience working with banks or credit unions
• Familiarity with conventional and Government-backed mortgage products (FHA, VA)
• Knowledge of mortgage processing, underwriting, closing, and funding

Responsibilities

• Find and generate new mortgage customers through referrals, Realtors, and bank partnerships.
• Meet with borrowers and collect financial information.
• Review income, debt, credit, and tax returns to determine loan eligibility.
• Explain mortgage options and help customers choose the best loan product.
• Provide rate and payment estimates.
• Guide borrowers through the entire loan process from application to closing.
• Work with processing, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure loans are completed successfully.
• Maintain relationships with customers, Realtors, and bank partners to create future business opportunities.

They help borrowers through the mortgage process by reviewing financial information, recommending loan options, explaining rates and fees, and assisting with loan approvals. The role also requires building strong relationships to create a steady pipeline of future business and having a solid understanding of mortgage products, lending regulations, and loan pricing.

• Banking or credit union experience
• Knowledge of:

• Mortgage processing, underwriting, closing, and funding
• NMLS registration (doesn't have to be active but needs to be issued)
